Caymas
Cayman carnival season draws crowds from all corners of the globe. The parade forms part of a weeklong celebration of all things Caribbean - including dance, music, food and drink. Feathered, bejewelled and beguiling creatures adorned in tiny colourful costumes, sashay - drink in hand - down the streets of Cayman. In coordinated formation they trail behind big decorated floats, complete with blaring soca music and mobile bar.
Every year the celebration seems to outdo that of the year before, as participants enthusiastically endeavour to outshine and out-sparkle their efforts made the year before.
Cayman Cookout
Created and hosted by esteemed Chef Eric Ripert – seafood master and co-owner of Le Bernardin in New York City and Blue by Eric Ripert at The Ritz-Carlton, the Cayman cookout is debatably the Caribbean culinary event of the year. World-renowned chefs, culinary experts as well as wine and spirit connoisseurs gather every year at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman for the event. Seven Mile Beach acts as the breathtaking backdrop to the interactive celebration where guests are treated to interactive food events that include cooking demonstrations, decadent tastings and dining experiences presented with fine island style and tropical flair.
Taste of Cayman
31 Years, over 45 restaurants, over 5,000 attendees, multiple competitions and over 18,000 portions of food consumed so far at Taste of Cayman. The event has grown into one of the biggest and best of the culinary kind. It celebrates authentic Cayman cuisine and Caribbean heritage through food as well as the many flavours from across the planet that influence the diverse food culture on this unique Caribbean island.
Pirate’s Week
Rum rampagers and swashbucklers gather every year for the most exciting and authentically Caribbean festival of them all - Pirate's Week.
The festivities commence in Cayman Brac with a welcome parade of Pirates and wenches, followed by a bonfire before these so-called pirates set sail for the 'invasion' of Grand Cayman. Their arrival in Cayman kicks off the celebrations that include music, street dancing, food, fun & drink.
KABOO
New kid on the festival block, KAABOO, was created 'by music lovers for music lovers'. The festival appeals to the masses by offering a world-class line-up of performers and pairing it with fantastic food, unique street art and a tropical island location. KABOO's inaugural edition in Grand Cayman was, by all accounts, a resounding success and laid the foundations for the great things to come in the following years, making it the latest addition to our list.
