HI SEAN! TELL THE READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF..…
I was born in Trinidad to a Caymanian father and Trinidadian mother. We moved to Cayman Brac when I was around 5. My parents then came to Grand Cayman to find work and I stayed in the Brac with my grandparents. Eventually my sisters and I moved over to Grand Cayman to join my parents when they settled into jobs and a house. We lived on Shedden Road in an old style Cayman home which is now the site of the building Anderson’s Square. And that’s pretty much where we grew up until my parents bought a “modern” house on Walkers Rd.
WHAT WAS CAYMAN LIKE TO GROW UP HERE? DETAILS!
In my youth Cayman was a very quiet, peaceful and safe place. It felt “island” and I loved that. To me we’ve now become a hustle and bustle city. But that happens with progress and modernization I guess!
WHAT DO YOU DO ON THIS BEAUTIFUL ISLAND?
I am a full time musician. My passion and first instrument is drums but luckily I’ve always dabbled with the guitar and have been going 20 years now in the duo Hi Tide with Shane Allenger. I always played in big bands (Hi Tide also started out as a 5 piece) but it’s more feasible to survive full time with a smaller combo.

Deckers of course. The Lodge in The Strand has a really nice live music scene. So does Peppers restaurant!

Well Deckers of course. I’ve been eating and working there for 20 years now and still not sick of the food.
I love local style food so places like Peppers, Cayman Cabana, Da Fish Shack, Cimboco, Miss Vivine’s in East End, Kurt’s Korner in North Side. Wait!!! That’s more than four…. I can go on. Star Island and Coral Isle in Cayman Brac!
MOST ROMANTIC THING TO DO HERE?
Chill out under the umbrellas at Villas of the Galleon listening to the waves and watching the sunset or the stars
FAVOURITE LOCAL DISH AND WHERE CAN YOU FIND IT?
I love a good fish rundown. Cayman Cabana’s is awesome. In the Brac, Coral Isle!
WHERE WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO GO FOR SUNSET DRINKS AND WHY?
I’m not really a drinker but some evenings when I’m driving to work I do observe and it seems that Bar Crudo on South Church Street, Rackam’s and Da Fish Shack on North Church Street are really nice sunset hangouts for a drink.
